Perbandingan Indonesia OneSearch dan Katalog Induk Nasional Berbasis Heuristic Evaluation Checklist

Abstract

Perkembangan dalam sistem pencarian dan katalog perpustakaan di Indonesia dapat diamati melalui Indonesia OneSearch (IOS) dan Katalog Induk Nasional (KIN). Kedua situs web merupakan pengembangan dari perpustakaan nasional yang memiliki fungsi hampir serupa satu sama lain. Oleh karena itu, perbandingan dari perspektif usability dapat mengetahui perbedaan mendasar dari kedua situs web. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi aspek usability yang paling berpengaruh terhadap efektivitas penggunaan IOS dan KIN. Penelitian menggunakan Heuristic Evaluation Checklist yang diadaptasi dari Heuristic Evaluation yang mengevaluasi antarmuka pengguna dengan 126 indikator dengan kondisi nilai benar, salah atau tidak tersedia (N/A). Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat tiga aspek Heuristic Evaluation yang menjadi kelebihan kedua situs web dengan persentase nilai benar di kisaran 40 – 75 %, tetapi pada terdapat dua aspek dengan 0 % nilai benar pada situs web KIN. Terdapat satu aspek yang menjadi kekurangan pada kedua situs web dengan persentase nilai salah di atas 50 %. Sedangkan tingkat severity ratings kedua situs web terdapat di tingkat 2 atau permasalahan minor usability. Secara usability situs web IOS lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan situs web KIN.

The development of library search and catalog systems in Indonesia can be examined through a comparative analysis of Indonesia OneSearch (IOS) and the Katalog Induk Nasional (KIN), two national library-developed websites with similar functionalities. A usability-focused comparison can reveal the fundamental differences between the two websites. This study aimed to identify the usability aspects that significantly influence the effectiveness of using IOS and KIN. Employing the Heuristic Evaluation Checklist, adapted from the Heuristic Evaluation framework, the study assessed the user interface of both websites using 126 indicators with true, false, or unavailable (N/A) values. The results showed that three aspects of Heuristic Evaluation were strengths of both websites, with a percentage of correct values ranging from 40% to 75%. However, two aspects on the KIN website had 0% correct values, indicating significant usability issues. Moreover, one aspect was a weakness on both websites, with a percentage of incorrect values exceeding 50%. The severity ratings of both websites were categorized as level 2, indicating minor usability problems. Overall, the study found that the IOS website demonstrated superior usability compared to the KIN website.
