Abstract: | Harga karbon pada bursa memiliki model stokastik diferensialnya tersendiri
harga opsi put menurun. Nilai awal convenience yield yang semakin negatif
meningkatkan harga opsi call, tetapi menurunkan harga opsi put. Keempat variabel
cash-or-nothing. The carbon price on the market follows its stochastic differential with the convenience yield. In response to global warming, companies must possess CO2 permits according to their emissions, which are tradable on the exchange. This creates opportunities for derivative financial instruments for CO2 permits to protect the future value of CO2 permits. This study utilizes Monte Carlo simulations to model CO2 permit prices, serving as a reference to determine call and put option pricesfor European vanilla and cash-or-nothing options. With an increasing number of simulations, the Monte Carlo method results converge towards their exact values. The initial CO2 spot price positively influences call options but negatively affects put options. Conversely, the strike price directly impact on put options and an inverse effect on call options. As the time to maturity lengthens, call optionprices rise while put option prices decline. A more negative initial convenience yield enhances call option prices but diminishes put option prices. These effects are the same for both types of European options vanilla and cash-or-nothing. |
