Meal worms (Tenebrio molitor) are chategorized as prospective animals. The farming of the meal worms must be done correctly to achieve their optimal production. The density of the during farming box is a factor that influences the maintenance process in increasing meal worm production. This study aims to analyze the performance of meal worms raised at different density levels. The study used a completely randomized design (RAL) with four treatments and three replications for each treatment. The observed variables were body length, body width, chitin weight, individual weight, total live weight, and mortality. The results of the study showed significantly different density levels (P<0.05) on the performance of meal worms. A density level of 500 grams in the farming box yielded the best results, particularly in average body length, average total live weight, average mortality, and average chitin weight. |
