Gastritis can be interpreted as a disease that occurs due to inflammation of the mucosal and submucosal layers of the stomach. The content of white turmeric (Curcuma zedoaria) infusion, including curcumin, flavonoids, essential oils, and polyphenols, has not been widely studied as a gastroprotective agent. This study aims to prove the gastroprotective effect of turmeric (Curcuma zedoaria) infusion on Sprague Dawley rats induced by HCl and ethanol. A total of 16 rats were divided into four treatment groups and fasted for 18 hours beforehand. The negative group (KN) was only given gastritis induction with a mixture of HCl and ethanol, the positive group (KP) was given omeprazole before gastritis induction, treatment group 1 (P1) was given 6% white turmeric infusion before gastritis induction, and treatment group 2 (P2) was given infusion 60% white turmeric before induction of gastritis. The results showed that 60% and 6% white turmeric infusion could lower gastric pH.
