The need for land measurement and mapping in Indonesia is still very high. One way that data collection can be carried out effectively and efficiently is by using a drone which is commonly called an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Each of these types has advantages and disadvantages. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of each type of drone, including the need for drones to map land or to obtain an image of an area, it is deemed necessary to find a solution. The purpose of this research is to design a UAV using the Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) system, from the conceptual stage, the preliminary stage, and the detailed design stage. The results of the conceptual design which includes determining the airfoil and modeling the main wing. The results of the preliminary design show that the air velocity distribution around the UAV body part experiences skin friction drag on the top and bottom sides of the body part until the initial intact design is obtained. The detailed design results then show the results of the frame design with a 3d model using a semi-monocoque structure, along with the overall flight requirements.
