| dc.description.abstract | The aims of the study was determining the phase of flower and fruit development, production, seed maturity and quality of jack bean in different shading and fertilization level. The experiment was arranged using split plot in a randomized block design with two factors., The first factor as main plot were shading that consisted of 3 levels, i.e: 0%, 25% and 50% of shading. The second factor as a sub plot were dosage of fertilizer that consisted of 3 levels: P1= urea 50 kg ha-1 + SP-36 100 kg ha-1 + KCl 75 kg ha-1, P2= urea 75 kg ha-1 + SP-36 125 kg ha-1 + KCl 100 kg ha-1, P3= urea 100 kg ha-1 + SP-36 150 kg ha-1 + KCl 125 kg ha-1. Flower, fruit and seed phenology, physiological maturity, quality of physical and physiological seed were observed. The results showed that harvesting periode of jack bean were varied between 130-158 days after planting. Shading could increase the number of flower buds, but the percentage of flowers
blooming and pod formation did not increase. Increasing the percentage of shading influenced on seed weight per plant. The best harvesting periode for obtaining a maximum seed vigor index and dry weight of seed was 13 weeks after anthesis. Shading and fertilization treatment increased the seed quality, as seen from the high index vigor, maximum growth potential and seed germination. | id |
