One of the problems in soybean (Glycin max L.) cultivation is the presence of weeds which can decrease the growth and production of soybean. Allelochemicals of purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus L.) potentially as bioherbicide to control weed in soybean field. Experiment aimed to study the effect of tuber extract of purple nutsedge from 3 months after planting, in different concentration on the growth of broadleaf weed, as well as the growth and production of soybean in the field.Experiment was conducted on March until June 2015, and was arranged in randomize complete block design with single factor. Single factor treatments were without weed control, manual weeding, and application of tuber extracts of purple nutsedge in 0.5–3.0 kg L-1concentration, with 3 replications. Data from thisexperiment was analyzed using F test and followed by DMRT at 5%. Result showed that application of tuber extracts of purple nutsedge were able to control growth of total broadleaf weeds and target broadleaf weeds i.e. Richardia brasiliensis and Cyanotis axillaris. Tuber extracts of purple nutsedge did not suppress the growth and yield of soybean.id
