Kebutuhan Satuan Panas Pertumbuhan Jintan Hitam (Nigella sativa L.) di Dataran Rendah Wilayah Tropis Indonesia
Abstract
This plant is native from Mediterranean region, with a growing environment on the highlands, with a temperature range of 6.9-17.4 °C and humidity of 45-62%. Black cumin is one of the introduction medicinal plants that have been widely used in herbal medicine. For survival fulfillment in Indonesia, black cumin development efforts on a wide range of characters in the tropical region of Indonesia. The purpose of this study to determine the value of the heat unit required for growth and production black cumin crops in lowland tropical areas. The study was conducted at the Leuwikopo with a height of 220 meters above sea level by using two sources of seed that is derived from India and Kuwait. The study was conducted from June to October 2015 with one factor is accession of black cumin, with four replications. Observations were made on the growth with calculating heat units in some stage of growth. The results showed that black cumin seeds begin to germinate in 6th day after planting with a heat
unit at 150.05 ° C Day, and requires a heat unit at 2070.25 ° C Day to get the mature stage of the capsule.
