dc.description.abstractPegagan duck as native south sumatera duck were one of specific genetic resource that needs to be preserved and explored. Scientific information on Pegagan as animal genetic resources is less than other native ducks. This study was done in order to identified and explored the performance of hatching egg of Pegagan duck. Five-hundreds hatching eggs were collected from 3 sub district; Tanjung Raja, Inderalaya and Pemulutan of Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. They were weighed and measured to generated egg index. The eggs were hatd1ed using hatd1ing madtine that already desinfected using lisol 2.5%. Along the hatching, all eggs were rotated from day-3 to day-25. Egg candling was done in day-5, day-13 and day-25. The results shows that average egg weight were 65 g. Bluish-green egg shell and average of egg index were 75±0,03%. Pegagan duck egg fertility were low (60%) and its hatchability were 53% with hatching weight 36.37 ± 3,39 g.en
