Microorganism which colonize plant internal tissue, endophytic microorganism, has many advantages for plant. They can improve the growth and resistance of plants, for examples. Colonization of endophytes thus becomes a sign to identify a healthy plant. Although endophytic microorganisms are more often associated to fungi, many bacteries also have good potensials for plant development. In case of plant bengkoang (Pachyrizus erosus), there is only a few information about its endophytic microorganisms, especially for bacterial group. In other hand, Bengkoang is well known has some toxics in their tissue that may belong to the colonization of some bacteria. The aim of this study is to explore the endophytic bacteria assosiated to Bengkoang root. We collected 12 non-pathogenic bacteria which some of them have been characterized as trigger of the growth of plant seedling.en
