      Abstract

Corn stover biomass has been proposed to be lignocellulosic feedstocks for the bioethanol production. In the log phase of lignocellulosic bioconversion technology to ethanol, the life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analyisis should be conducted . The objectives of this study was to assess the life cycle environmental impacts and the technoeconomics analysis associated with the bioethanol production from lignocellulosic. The process included in this system consist of milling, delignification, hydrotermolysis, simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation, distilation and dehydration. In order to produce 1 L of ethanol (95%), approximately 7.96 kg of corn stover were required or its yield was 121 liters per ton of biomass. From the environmental point of view, the production of lignocellulosic bietanol have a positive net energy ratio (NER) was 5.60, unfortunately 63,67 tonnes of CO2-eq per year of greenhouse gas emissions was emitted. Additional, the bioethanol production process was feasible based on the parameters of NPV, IRR, and PBP. The investment cost of 1000 liters per day was Rp 1,891,508,861.00, meanwhile the profit of Rp 2,166.00 per liter ethanol
