dc.description.abstract | Leucocyte is important factor for immune system of the chicken. The aim of this study was to investigate the differential leucocyte after infection with Eimeria tenella and treatment with Curcuma domestica powder. This study used two-week old chick which were divided into 6 groups. The treatment consisted of negative control, positive control, chicken infected with Eimeria tenella and treated with sulfaquinoxaline 13 mg/kg body weight (13 mg kg bw), chicken infected with Eimeria tenella and treated with Curcuma domestica powder with doses given 2 hours after infection with Eimeria tenella with the dose of 1x104 oocyts chick, during 6 days. Blood sampling were conducted on 0, 1, 3, 6, 8, 10 and 14 days after infection, than stained with Giemsa 10%. The result showed that the C. domestica powder with the low dose (Ky 1) can increase the average of heterophil percentage at 3, 10 and 14 days after infection and monocyte at 6, 8 and 14 days after infection, but decreased the average of eosinophil at 6 and 14 days after infection and lymphocyte at 8, 10 and 14 days after infection Sulfaquinoxaline and C domestica powder have not influence to the average of basophil percentage. | |
