This study aims to determine the genetic variability and heritability of yield component characters of some genotype of chili pepper. The experimental design used was Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), three replications as a block was nested in location (at six locations i.e Tajur, Ciherang, Leuwikopo, Subang, Rembang dan Boyolali). Plant materials were eleven genotype: IPB CH1, IPB CH2, IPB CH3, IPB CH5, IPB CH25, IPB CH28, IPB CH50, IPB C74, IPB C75, IPB C76, IPB C77 and IPB C78. Results indicated that the character of fruit weight, fruit length, fruit flesh dense and yield per plant had broad genetic variability. The character of fruit width, time of flowering and time of harvest had narrow genetic variability. Broad-sense heritability was high for all observed characters. IPB CH3, IPB CH25, IPB CH28, IPB CH50, IPB C74 and IPB C78 genotypes can be used to development of high yielding chili pepper.
