dc.description.abstract | Food was the most requirement for human, so that food availability for people must always guaranteed. Buruhotong had function as an alternative food for rice substitute, because it had carbohydrate content of 73.36% and protein content of 11.18%. Buruhotong plant was a local agricultural product that could be sufficient potentially developed. It was a long time recognized by people and hinterland people in Buru District, Buru Island, Maluku cultivated it traditionally. An experiment was required to grow it in another location, that was in Darmaga, Bogar on July 2005 until November 2005, and a research is required to study effectiveness and efficiency of its cultivation. The objective of the research was to analyse effectiveness and efficiency of buruhotong cultivation in Darmaga, Bogar that beginning from soil tillage, planting, plant maintenance, and harvesting activities. The result of the research showed that buruhotong cultivation with row planting system was more effective than tugal planting system. Productivity, acceptance from buruhotong selling, total cultivation cost, and profit with row planting system were 3.14 tonlha, Rp 31445 5111ha, Rp 12585 7171ha, and Rp 18859 7931ha, whereas with tugal planting system were 1.87 tonlha, Rp 18 725 6501ha, Rp 11 598 5831ha, and Rp 7 127 0661ha, so that buruhotong cultivation with row planting system was more profitable than tugal planting system. | en |
