dc.description.abstractAvailable of pelagic species on fishing ground is very influenced of oceanograpycal factors, such as sea surface temperature (SST). The SST data can be easily obtained through the latest development of satellite remote sensing. One of pelagic species that have important economic value and found abundantly iin Indonesian waters is frigate mackerel. Therefor, the SST data which detected by satellite can be utilized on forecasting of fishing ground in order to get the optimizing fishing operation. Theh research objectives are: (1) to predict the SST distribution and optimum SST for fishing of frigate mackerel, (2) to determine the relationship between SST with catch of frigate mackerel and (3) to predict the potential fishing ground of frigate mackerel.en
