KAJIAN TENTANG PELUANG DAN TANTANGAN PROGRAM SERTIFIKASI PUSTAKAWAN DI INDONESIA

Abstract

The research was conducted by survey method using questionnaires that are sent directly or e-mail. The number of samples of this study as many as 200 people. Questionnaires are eligible for processing as many as 150 copies. Data are collected on a range of issues and problems related to the librarian certification program. Data analysis was done by using descriptive and SWOT analysis techniques to determine the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for certification of librarians. The results showed that 84 percent of respondents do not understand exactly librarian certification and 64 percent of respondents considered that the librarian certification is required. Referring to the SWOT analysis identified that the position of librarian certification program strategy in Indonesia with a value of 0.240 for internal and external value of 0.089. The results of the SWOT analysis shows that the position of librarian certification program strategy in Indonesia are in quadrant 1 (S, O), which supports an aggressive strategy.
