The arrangement of planting density and method of fertilizer application constitutes one among many cultivation techniques to increase productivity of pepper plantation. The development of shrub pepper is an alternative of cultivation as it is relatively adaptive to shelter. This research was aimed to obtain information on the effect of planting density and method of fertilizer application on the growth of pepper. The experiment was arranged in split plot design by placing a planting density as main plot and method of fertilizer application as sub-plot. The results showed that the planting density of 1.25 x 1.25 m and of 1.50 x 1.25 m under the fertilizer application circle method being the best combination in improving the growth dry weight production and the total absorption of trace element of pepper plants. The interaction of planting density and method of fertilizer application on the growth and dry weight production did not indicate any concistent effect. The weeds of Ageratum conizoides, Lindirnia spp., Mikania micranta, Borreria repens and Eupatorium odoratum were the types those dominating pepper plantations. The broad lives weeds were more dominant compared to that of grassesen
