The experiment is conduced at Caringin, Sukakami. West Java The aim of the experiment is to identify the performance of rice production technology using low external input. Data is collected by survey. The survey area is stratified by 3 zones, re Zone A >800 B 600-$00 and Zone C 500-600 m above sea level. Each rone has similar cropping pattern. The experiment uses randomized complete design. Two variables are observed a> variable of production Cobb-Douglas function, and b> variable production technology are ordinal scale. The survey result is analyzed with ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis, Mean separation of ANOVA result is conducted by LSD or Dunnet at a5%. Double linear regression is used to determine the use of low external input is rice production. Result shows that Zone A has used low external input, is characterized by low fertilizer dose, less farmer uses svnthetic pesticide, uses mam locally adapted varieties, fanner seed end plant rotation The yield of low external input technology is lower than as potency, but is nut significantly different from the result of high external input method. The use of high external input less than recommended causes significantly reduce yield The kev to success in using low external input on rice production is planting loyally adapted varietiesen
