The extract of Sapindus rarak fruit pericarp has been proved to increase sheep performance (40% increase of average daily gain). Methanol extract of S. rarak has contain high saponin which affected to protozoa population in the rumen. However, none or hardly any report on the use of S. rarak (lerak) fruit for cattle. In vivo experiment using twelve catties fed with concentrate and mix grass plus three different treatments, such as (Rl) feed block without S. rarak, (R2) feed block with 0.033% of MeOH extract S. rarak, and (R3) feed block with 0.085% of MeOH extract S rarak , from total ration. Ratio concentrate : mix grass were 47 : 52, while feed block 1% and water was given ad libitum. Body composition as representative of body water, body fat and body protein were measured with Urea Space method, while body weight gain was measured before and after of the experiment. Twenty percent of urea solution with 0.65 ml/kg metabolic body weight dose was injected through jugular vein for a minute. After 18 minutes the blood sample was collected to analyzed the concentration of urea. The experiment was designed using Completely Randomized Design. Result showed that there were no significant different of feed consumption, body weight gain, body fat and total body protein in all treatments, however there was a tendency of decreasing of total body fat. It is concluded that MeOH extract S.rarak (R3) could be used as feed additive which affected to the body composition with same body water and protein, while body fat was decreased.
