The research was conducted in order to study the effect of probiotics administration on phagocytosis of polymorphonuclear cell of broiler chicken. One hundred broilers were divided into 5 groups, (A) the control group (not given probiotic and antibiotic), (B) received feed containing zinc bacitracin, (C) received probiotic Bacillus apiarius, (D) received probiotic B. coagulans, and (E) received probiotic BM (contained B. apiarius, B. coagulans, B. alvei, B. circulans, B. brevis and B. laterosporus). The probiotic were supplemented in drinking water (1 o9 CFUIlitre). Blood samples were collected at 6 week of age. Polymorphonuclear cells were separated from blood and further investigated for activity and capacity of phagocytosis and clearance of Salmonella enteritidis and S. lyphimurium. This study showed that probiotics administration increased activity and capacity of phagocytosis of polymorphonuclear cell. As well as enhanced the Salmonellas clearance of polymorphonuclear cell.
