dc.description.abstractThis paper concerns the importance of zinc in growth, I development, and cognitive function in children. Possible strategies to overcoming zinc deficiency and the results of same supplementation trials ore discussed. It seems clear that prevention of zinc deficiency among young children remains the best policy, not only an morcl grounds, but I also on economic ones. There is a great deal of work yet to I be done to find an adequate way to prevent zinc deficiency, but it appears that zinc supplementation or food fortification with an adequate zinc compound may be the key to overcome such a worldwide nutritional problem.id
