      Abstract
This research was aimed to evaluate the effect of digestibility of nutrients and nitrogen balance of methanol extract of Sapindus rarak (EML) as a feed block on twelve Ongole crossbreed cattles. The initial body weight of animals were 156±11,2 kg. The treatments were: P1 as control diet contained 49% mixgrass + 51% concentrates + 1% feed block, P2 was P1 which contained 0,03% EML, and P3 was P1 which contained 0,06% EML. The parameters measured were feed intake, average daily gain, feed convertion ratio, digestibility of nutrients and nitrogen balance and blood nutrient profile. All animals were divided into three treatments with four replications randomly. Data were analyzed 2 by Analysis of Covariance completely randomized designed and the differences among treatments were tested by Orthogonal Contrast Test. The results showed that methanol extracted lerak as a feed block had no effect in feed intake, average daily gain, feed convertion ratio, digestibility of nutrients, nitrogen balance and blood nutrient profile. However, EML supplementation at level of 0,033% showed tendence to decrease body fat and cholesterol, while supplementation at level of 0,085% showed 10,45% lower than at level of 0,033% for the feed conversion ratio.
