Produksi Kelahiran Sapi Potong Simmental dari Induk Sapi Perah FH Hasil Inseminasi Buatan (IB) Sperma Sexing

Abstract

Background: Birth of calf result from artificial insemination (AI) using sexing sperm of simrnental breed inseminated to dairy canle F1·1 breed were investigated. TI,e purpose of this research is to clarify the efeciivity of AI using sexing sperm to dairy cow in Enrekang distric, South Sulawesi with result frozen sperm and calf sexed. Menthods: Simmental sperm sexing were produced with albumin coloum methode at Research Center for Biotechnology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, Cibinong. Product of sperm sexing divided 2 kinds, sperm X (female sperm) and sperm Y (male sperm), Result: When sperm X were inseminated. result 100% female calfs. however. sperm Y result 88,89% male caJf. Value of coception rate (CR) and service per conception (SIC) of spermatozoa X were 45.95% and J.4, respectively. Howefcr, CR and SIC of spermatozoa Y were 63.63 and J.2, respectively. Seventy one dairy calfs were born and 66 dairy calfs from that were born with gender as expected (93%). Based on the results it was concluded that application of Al using sperm sexing simenial inseminated to dairy cow FH was effective for produce calf with superior performance and expected gender.
