dc.description.abstractMulberry leave contain l-dcoxynojirimycin (ONJ) which can inhibit hydrolysis of oJigosakarida to monomers, but that inhibiting are not complete. Therefore, that compound is estimated that it can inhibit hydrolysis of non structural carbohydrate in the rumen system. The aim of this experiment was to study the rapid hydrolysis of several carbohydrates by mulberry leaf extract that contain compound J-deoxynojirimycin, in media that contain liquid enzyme rumen and in system rumen in vitro. The carbohydrate tested consists of glucose, maltosa. sukrosa, cellulose and lactose with or without mulberry leave extract (MLE). The parameter observed was total sugar reduction. The result showed that leaf extract rnurbei that contain compound l-deoxynojirimycin can be a slow release agent fot non structural carbohydrate in the system rumen, especially for maltosa, marked by slower hydrolysis rate of maltosa in maltose media that added leaf extract murbei.id
