dc.description.abstract | Potatoes can be severey affected by late blight, a fungal disease caused by Phytophuhora which can destray the foliage anbd tubers of the crops. Initial attempts to control late blight in Potato deplayed resistance genes (R genes) derived fro the hexaploid Solanum demissum (R1 - R11) However , their comunity reaction can be easily over come by the development of new virulent factors. | id |
