dc.description.abstract | The objective of the research was to determine the effect of preharvest CaC12 application on quality changes of tomato fruits. Experiment consisted of 5 treatments: control, application of 0.1 M CaC12 at 18f2 days ajier anthesis (DAA), 0. I M CuC12 ut 2522 DAA, 0.2 M CaC12 at 1822 DAA and 0:2 M CaC12 at 25f2 DAA. Tomato fruits cv. Ratna hurvesred at breaker stage were used throughout the experiment. Variables to be observed were peel color, weight loss, fruit firmness, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, and respirarion. Result of the experiment showed that application of CaC12 cotrld not maintain quality and extend shelflife. Application of 0. I M C&12 at 2522 DAA inhibitedpeel color developmenr at 9, 12, and 2 1 days after harvest. | id |
