Penggunaan Metode Triangle dan Concentration Count dalam Penelitian Sebaran dan Populasi Gibbon (Hylobatidae)
Abstract
Studies on wildlife in the nature need methodological approaches which can produce precise and accurate data. In accordance with the increasing number of scientists who are interested in studying wildlife in nature, many methods have been developed. This paper discusses the Triangle and Concentration Count methods which are appropriate for the observation of the wildlife distribution and population, especially for the wildlife species which frequently produce sound as a tool of communation or a spacing / territorial mechanism. There are two ways in using those methods parallel and series. Selection of which way to be used depends on the size of the area, availability of time and the number of observers. This method has been applied in the study of arboreal primates such as Siamang.
