Changes in morphological and physiological characteristics of soybeans (Glycine mar L) were analysed in response to drought stress. Fifteen drought-tolerant genotypes and 3 drought-sensitive genotypes were subjected to drought condition by regulating water suppw in greenhouse. The morphological and physiological responses were identified by measuring root lenght, shoot 8nd root dry-weight, root to shoot ratio, leaf osmotic-potential, and free-proline content in the leaf. Mwt sf the tolerant genotypes had root-systems longer and weighter than the sensitive genotypes under drought colldition. The drought stress tended to cause leaf osmotic-potential of some tolerant genotypes decreased, and proline acenmalation increased slightly.id
