dc.description.abstract	A short article briefly describing the major land and marine environments of Indonesia (peatlands, mangroves and tidal swamps, fisheries, and coastal communities) and its conservation policies which include the development of national parks and conservation areas (nature reserves, wildlife conservation areas, marine reserves, and recreation and protection forests). Conservation problems are described with particular reference to the marine environment.	id
