The objective of this experiment was to observe the effect of fish-cassava silage addition in diet on local duck performance. This experiment was curled out at Field Laboratory of Feed Science and Technology, and Field Laboratory of Poultry Nutrition, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural University, from March to September 2000. The experimental design was Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatment diets were made based on the levels of fish-cassava silage addition i.e.: 0% (R1), 20% (R2) and 400/0 (R3). Each diet was fed to 30 six months old local duck that divided into 3 pens and every pen consist of 10 ducks (aU female). Parameters that observed were feed consumption, duck day, egg mass, feed conversion, mortality and income over feed cost. The data were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) then analyzed using Duncan's Multiple Range Test. Result showed that fish-cassava silage addition in local duck diet reduced significantly (P<O.05) feed consumption and duck day, and increased feed conversion. Feed consumption and duck day in R3 were lower (P<O.05) than R1 and R2, whereas no significantly difference between R1 and R2. Feed conversion in R3 was higher significantly (P<O.05) than R1 and R3, whereas no significantly difference between R1 and R2. Fish-cassava silage addition in local duck diet did not influence the egg mass. Fish-cassava silage addition in local duck diet reduced the local duck performance that considered feed consumption, duck day and feed conversion. Key words: silage, diet, duck.id
