dc.description.abstractGinger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.), in Indonesia is used as spice and midicind plant. Ginger, especially Gajah and Badak cultivar, have a good prospect because of the extent of vertical diversification and market, both for domestic consumption is well as for export. The development of ginger, cultural technique and the related technology is essential and strategic in obtaining efficient and environmentally sound, as well as low cost production process, hence improve the ability in market competition. Biotechnology is one that has been contribute to such development.id
