Industrial crops include different kinds of crofs, manuy os them are cultivated as an estated cropf either by estate enterprices in a large scales or by farmer in a small holders. Tissue culture research for industrial crops has been conducted since 1986. As so many crops to be dealth with, and the large scope of studies, the research is selected for those crops with the following criteria: 1) crops which are difficult to be propagated conventionally or need a long time to produce seedling, 2) uncertain quality of the progenies (especially cross polinated crops) 3) genetically eroded species of industrial crops, 4) potential crops. Recently the research on tissue culture has been conducted for the following crops: cloves, papper, cinnamon, tobacco, china grass .genger, cardamon, vanilla, abaca, gnetum and patchouly. Seedlings from tissue culture have been available for several crops. Furthermore, tissue culture research for crops improvement are being conducted in papper.
