Karakterisasi Faktor Virulen Streptococcus Sp. Grup C Asal Wabah Pada Kera Dan Babi Dl Bali Dan Beberapa Daerah Di Indonesia

Abstract

Twenty seven isolates of group C streptococcus (SGC) onginated from pigs and monkeys fi-om Bali, three SGC lsolates of pigs from Eampung and two SGC isolates of pigs from Maros were re-isolated and identified as Streptococcus eq~iis ubsp zooepicleniicus based on their biological characteristics and biochemical reactions. Of the 32 SGC isolates investigated, 28 SGC isolates formed large and mucoid colonies in the blood agar while four isolates had sinall and rough colonies. Using SDS-PAGE test, hydrophobic proteins were detected froin all SGC isolates, while only 10 isolates expressed the haemagglutination activities. Key Words : Streptococcus sp., SGC, virulent factors
