| dc.description.abstract | The use of a number of soybean lines for creating a wide genetic base is made possible by a world wide availability of germplasm collection. Recurrent selection has been shown t o be effective in increasing yield as well as in improving other agronomic characters. But it has not been widely used i n soybeans partially because of the diffiulty involved in hand polli - nation. The discovery of genetic male sterility in soybean provided apartial solution of t h i s problem. The steps involving genetic male sterility is presented in this paper. | id |
