Persamaan Dan Perbedaan Ciri Anatomi Pada Beberapa Jenis Kayu Mangrove

Abstract

The rise of illegal logging activities is triggered by weak existing law enforcement processes. In court, the identity of the evidence is a very important factor and determining the wood species must be done correctly. This research aims to analyze the distinguishing characteristics of several mangrove wood species based on their anatomical structure. Macroscopic features of wood are observed directly by using a micro lup connected to a computer; while the microscopic ones namely the shape and size, and organization of wood constituent cells namely vessel (pores), axial parenchyma, rays, fibers and intercellular canals were observed through microtome specimens using a light microscope. The results showed that included phloem and crystals, the arrangement of pores, and type of parenchyma cell can be used to differentiate among the wood species studied.
