      Abstract
      Kota Bangun Darat District is one of the districts in Kota Bangun Darat Regency, East Kalimantan Province and is one of the areas with quite high biodiversity. The utilization of food and aromatic plants in Kota Bangun Darat District is still undocumented and data related to plant utilization by the community is still very limited. In this case, research activities on the potential of food and aromatic plants in Kota Bangun Darat District are urgently needed. This study aims to identify the potential of food and aromatic plants in Kota Bangun Darat District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the richness of food and aromatic plant species in Kota Bangun Darat District is 46 species that can be grouped into 31 families, with details of food plants as many as 40 species and 27 families, while aromatic plants as many as 7 species and 7 families. Judging from its uses, food plants in Kota Bangun Darat District can be divided into 17 types, namely fruits, food ingredients, sources of carbohydrates and proteins, food flavorings, fresh vegetables, vegetables, sugar making, making palm fruit, making flour, making snacks, making pickles, natural sweeteners as a sugar substitute, raw materials for candy, ingredients for making cooking oil/vegetable oil and/or margarine base, ingredients for making jelly, ingredients for making vegetable fat, and coffee substitutes. Based on their uses, aromatic plants in Kota Bangun Darat District can be divided into 2 types, namely essential oils and natural fragrances.
