| dc.description.abstract | The increasing of forest degradation in Indonesia made supply of wood as the industry materials decrease. This fact gave bad impact for Indonesia income from forestry sector. Based on that, nowdays people starts improve Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP) as alternative materials to fulfill industrial needs. One of that NTFP is sandalwood (or gaharu in Indonesia). Sandalwood is a kind of forestry plants producing essential oil that high in economical value. It usually produced and taken naturally from the forest, and it could make the population endangered because of the over exploitation activity. So, to prevent that condition intensive conducting of sandalwood regeneration is needed. Flower and fruit production phase of sandalwood is happened only once a year. It caused sandalwood could not yield seed every moment that is needed. Based on that condition, vegetative propagation process became an effective way to regenerating sandalwood to fullfill the needs of sandalwood seeds. A type of vegetative propagation methods is cutting system. This is a methods that could produce seedlings with same genetic characteristics with the parent, and in big of amount. We could get big number of qualified sandalwood seeds by this methods. ... | id |
