Since the existence of life on earth, humans have interacted and cannot be separated from trees. Trees are more effective in overcoming environmental problems when they form aggregates called forests. Urban forest is an area dominated by trees in urban areas with a minimum area of 0.25 ha which is located on public and private land. The area of urban forest in a city is at least 10% of the city area. Urban forests that are built must be able to provide maximum benefits for humans or other living things, either directly or indirectly. Selection of tree species is the initial stage for the successful development of urban forests. The urban area are generally not natural, a low environmental quality, a narrow area and many facilities, so in the selection of tree species it is necessary to consider various factors, namely the purpose of planting urban forest blocks, ecological compatibility, resistance to pests and diseases as well as environmental stress, mastery of planting and maintenance techniques, and ease of maintenance.id
