Kajian Produktivitas dan Fertilitas Itik Cihateup.

Abstract

Cihateup duck is a primary duck of West Java that has been known as layer duck. It was lived at high land on cool temperature and mostly found is Tasikmalaya and Garut regency. This duck has not been known about of its biological characteristics yet. The aim of this research was to obtain information of production performance of Cihateup duck, which can be used as a reference for the animals development. Twelve female, 5 males ducks from Tasikmalaya regency and 31 females, 19 males ducks from Garut regency were used in this research. Commercial diet with 16% crude protein was given to the experimental animals. Water and feed were provided ad libitum. The data characteristic of production and fertility were analyzed with t-test by minitab release 13.20. Ratio of male duck and female duck was analyzed with X2 test. Correlation between production and fertility was analyzed with regretion by SAS 6.12. The result showed that Cihateup ducks are potential to be layer type. Perform of production that consist maturity age showed earlier. Average og body weight maturity of Cihateup ducks were 1 500-1 550 g. Peak production of Cihateup ducks were occured at third week (81.05±2.21 %) with potential production upper 60 %. Width of pubic bones Cihateup duck was 6 cm. Reproduction performs could be estimated from number of ova (772.17±663.60 eggs). The result showed that both of ducks had high potential egg production. Fertility of ducks were high, and there were similarity of male and female DOD. There were correlation between production and reproduction in Cihateup duck. This correlation values could be used to estimate production by reproduction traits.
