      Abstract
Eel is a commodity that high value and favored international markets, but production still can not fill market demand. The problems most often occur in the cultivation of eels is on a slow growth, high feed conversion, and low survival rates. The problems affecting the production performance is by increasing maintenance time and cost of production. Fish feed is an important factor in cultivation. Feeding with appropriate levels of protein is expected to increase growth so as to reduce production costs and improve production performance. This study uses a completely randomized design with treatments of feed that has a different protein content, i.e. 38.5%, 42.5%, and 44.5%, respectively repeated 2 times. Fish reared in concrete ponds dimensions 2 m x 2 m x 1.8 m as many as six in a pool of water flowing at the rate of 30 L/min. Eel fish used have a weight of 65.3 ± 2.73 g/fish with a density of 10 kg/m3. Feed given 4 times a day, ie at 05.00, 11:00, 16:00 and 21:00 are at satiation method. Fish maintained for 30 days with sampling every 15 days. Parameters used include survival, growth rate, diversity coefficient weights, feed conversion and water quality. The results showed differences in the protein content of the feed did not significantly affect survival, and diversity coefficient, but the real effect on the growth rate, feed intake and feed conversion. The best treatment (P<0.05) is the feed with protein content of 46.5% resulted in a 0.63% growth rate and ratio feed conversion of 2.18.
