Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is original fish from Indonesia. The problem of snakehead fish seed are overfishing, endangered, culture technologies are undeveloped, and survival rate is low. Light intensity manipulation as environment adjustment is belived can increase the growth and survival of fish. This study was aimed to determine the appropriate light intensity for producing the best growth and survival rate of snakehead seed. Snakehead fish seed with the initial average of body weight and length are 0.41±0.04 g and 3.5±0.2 cm respectively were used. Fish were reared in the plastic tank with water volume of stocked of 4 fish each liter. Fish were fed blood worm and always available (ad libitum). White fluorescent lamp with Philips 3 watt brand was used. The study design used was a completely randomized design. This treatment design were used as following: ligt intensity 0 lux (control), ligt intensity 300 lux (A), ligt intensity 400 lux (B), ligt intensity 500 lux (C), and ligt intensity 600 lux (D). Each treatment consisted of three replicates and to control consisted of two replicates. The best performance and survival rate at light intensity 500 lux was found.
