The availibility of low calcium in vegetables encourages the effort to enhance calcium content to produce high quality vegetables. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) as one of the high comercial-valued vegetables has low calcium content. The objective of this research were to enhance calcium content of lettuce by adding egg shell powder to hydroponic medium and to evaluate calcium accumulation to moisture, ash, and calcium content on lettuce. Egg shell powder was dissolved by HNO3 65 % then it’s added to hydroponic medium until the total concentration of medium were 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, and 300 ppm. Lettuces were cropped in the 6th and 8th week after plantation (WAP) then analized the moisture, ash, and calcium content. The result showed that calcium contentof lettucesincreased by egg shell powder adding. The calcium content mean in the 6th and 8th WAP were 320.18 ± 119.76 ppm (0 ppm), 546.77 ± 141.56 ppm (100 ppm), 644.19 ± 91.46 ppm (200 ppm), and 749.65 ± 127.22 ppm (300 ppm). Accumulation of calcium affected to the increasing of moisture, ash, and calcium content compared to the lettuces without the addition of egg shell powder and those three parameters was higher at 6thWAP than at 8thWAP.
