Pengetahuan Gizi, Pola Konsumsi Pangan, Aktivitas Fisik dan Hubungannya dengan Status Gizi Mahasiswa Asal Papua di Bogor
Abstract
Students Papua referred to as of Leaving-Home students, who are want to continue their advance study to the university level that are outside the area of origin. The general objectives of this study were to assess nutrition knowledge, food consumption patterns, physical activity and their relationship to the nutritional status of students Papua in Bogor. This research was conducted in May-June 2013 followed a cross-sectional study design. Samples was purposively chosen with the total of 60 students who were fully participative in this study.The study showed that in general the nutritional knowledge of students belong to the category of less (65%); moderate (30%) and the rest (5%) as good. The average level of physical activity (PAL) based on the value of PAL between 1.40-1.69 which belongs to light activity. Most on the them (41.7%) were categorized as deficient energy, wereas most (35%) were categorized as deficient protein. Nutritional Status of students determined based on their BMI, its found that 15 % students are thin, 58.3% normal and 26.7 % student are categorized as obese. Statistical analysis by Rank Spearman correlation test showed that vitamin C consumption of the student in Baranangsiang significantly achieved recommended dietary allowance (p<0.05). Energy consumption significantly associated (p<0.05) with the nutritional status of the student in Dramaga. Sufficiency level of nutrients are still deficits, and need to be socialized to the students by using General Balanced Nutrition Guidelines (PUGS) in order to meet the daily nutritional needs of students.
