Java turmeric (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is a typical Indonesian plants that have antioxidant activity. Clinical testing showed that curcumin safe at high doses (12 g/day) but has low bioavailability. Delivery systems by making of solid lipid nanoparticles made to improve bioavailability of curcuminoids. This study aims to measure antioxidant activity of nanocurcuminoid coated solid lipid in female rat induced by CCl4. Analysis of antioxidant activity by measuring Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), gluthatione peroxidase (GPX) and peroxidase (POX). Nanocurcuminoids size that obtained was 114.4±33.8 nm with polydispersity index 0.218 and adsorption efficiency 79%. The results showed that administration of nanokurkuminoid dose of 1500 mg/kg in female rats induced by CCl4 were able to reduce levels of MDA (4.34 nmol/mL) and increasing the activity of SOD (64.70 %), GPx (3208.02 mU/mL) and POX (3.13 mU/mL). These results indicate nanokurkuminoid have antioxidant activity.
