      Abstract
      Peanut plant weeding was commonly done manually utilize sickle, hoe, and by hand. Objective of the research was to test walking type cultivator performances included of weed cover, weeding efficiency, weeding field efficiency, plant productivity, weeding cost, and compare weeding results manually and mechanically. Results of the research showed that weed cover after first and second manual weeding were 0% and 2.36% , while it was done mechanically were (0.35-3.31)% and (3.52-18.40)%. First and second manual weeding efficiencies were 100% and 89.41%, while it was done mechanically were (72.79-96.70)% dan (56.38-78.89)%. First and second mechanical weeding field efficiencies were (49.33-73.49)% and (37.85-56.86)%. Peanut wet pods productivity manually and mechanically were 3.18 ton/ha and (1.28-1.71) ton/ha. Weeding cost manually and mechanically were Rp 1,214,286/ha and (Rp 570,877/ha – Rp 904,387/ha).
       
      Penyiangan gulma kacang tanah umumnya dilakukan secara manual menggunakan cangkul, koret dan tangan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji kinerja walking type cultivator meliputi penutupan gulma, efisiensi penyiangan gulma, efisiensi lapang penyiangan, produktivitas kacang tanah, biaya penyiangan serta membandingkan hasil uji kinerja penyiangan manual dengan mekanis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penutupan gulma hasil penyiangan manual I dan II sebesar 0% dan 2.36%, sedangkan penyiangan mekanis I dan II menggunakan walking type cultivator sebesar (0.35-3.31)% dan (3.52-18.40)%. Efisiensi penyiangan gulma pada penyiangan I dan II secara manual sebesar 100% dan 89.41%, sedangkan pada penyiangan mekanis sebesar (72.79-96.70)% dan (56.38-78.89)%. Efisiensi lapang penyiangan secara mekanis pada penyiangan I dan II sebesar (49.33-73.49)% dan (37.85-56.86)%. Produktivitas polong basah kacang tanah secara manual dan mekanis sebesar 3.18 ton/ha dan (1.28-1.71) ton/ha. Biaya penyiangan secara manual dan mekanis sebesar Rp 1,214,286/ha dan (Rp 570,877/ha–Rp 904,387/ha).
