Pengaruh Fortifikasi Vitamin E dan Mineral Zn terhadap Umur Pertama Bertelur, Ukuran Shank dan Kualitas Telur Isa Brown
Abstract
The aim of this research was to determine the effect of fortication vitamin E, Zn, and its combination in commercial the diets on the age of the first egg-laying, shank size, and egg quality of Isa Brown laying hens. This research was arranged in completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and four replicates. The parameters observed were shank length, shank diameter, egg weight, albumen weight, and albumen percentage, yolk weight, yolk percentage, shell weight, shell percentage, shell thickness and yolk color score. This research used 160 laying hens aged 20 weeks that reared intensvely until 25 weeks age. Treatment given were R0 = control diet (without vitamin E and Zn fortification), R1 = diet fortified with vitamin E 200 ppm, R2 = diet fortified with Zn 200 ppm, R3 = diet fortified vitamin E 200 ppm + Zn 200 ppm. Result of this research showed that fortification of vitamin E, Zn and its combination significantly increased (P<0.05) shank lenght, but did not affect shank diameter and egg quality. Vitamin E and Zn fortification could increased shank length and earlier age of the first egg-laying and did not affect egg quality and shank diameter.
