Karakteristik Estrus dan Tingkat Kebuntingan Domba Garut dengan Penambahan Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari (Helianthus annus) pada Ransum

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to observe the garut sheep consumption of nutrients,characteristic responses and pregnancy rate which was given the addition of sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus) in the ration. The research was conducted based on completely randomized design with 4 treatments were P0 (control ), P1 (with 2 % addition of sunflower oil), P2 (with 4 % addition of sunflower oil), and P3 (with 6 % addition of sunflower oil ), and 8 replications. The data were analized by ANOVA and continued with Duncan test if there were mean differences. Analysis of data used SPSS 16.0 and presented descriptively. The result showed the addition of sunflower oil significantly (P<0.05) reduced dry matter consumption and very significant (P<0.01) reduced the consumption of crude protein, calcium, phosphor and increased crude fat. The fastest onset estrous found in P3 treatment and the longest estrous found in P1 treatment. The P2 treatment resulted in good response (75%) with the highest pregnancy rate (62.5%).
