The transition period at post-weaning is a crucial period; the microbial rumen of lamb is not developed yet, milk diet has been removed and the feeding regime is changed. However, growth performance and rumen bacteria in preweaning period affects the growth and nutrient utilization of weaned lamb. The study was designed to evaluate the performance, the absorption and the blood mineral profile (Ca, P, and Mg) in post-weaning lamb offered Co and rumen bacteria consortium previously in the pre-weaning period. Three-four months old of 8 garut sheep with initial body of 9.86±2.02 kg were divided into two treatments groups of control and the post administration of rumen bacteria consortium (CoBac) groups. Results showed that administration of Co and rumen bacteria consortium during pre-weaning period had no effect on performance, mineral absorption and blood mineral profile in post-weaning. It is concluded that administration of Co and rumen bacteria consortium during pre-weaning period of lamb did not improve the performance and nutrient utilization during transition period.
