The increase production of barramundi (Lates calcalifer) can be increased extensively by using brackishwater and idlle pond. Therefore, the study about salinity in this fish must be done. The study aim is to know the adaptation of barramundi of 4.88 cm on low salinity by measuring blood glucose level, metabolic rate, survival rate, growth and feed conversion ratio in nursery system. The treatment in this study consists of salinity 4, 18 and 32 g/L. Blood glucose level was measured at 0, 5th and 10th days by using a glucose test kit for human beings. The metabolic rate was measured every ten days, indirectly by measturing the total of oxygen of barramundi. The results showed that blood glucose level, metabolic rate, survival rate, growth and feed conversion ratio were not affected by rearing media salinity of barramundi, althought blood glucose level in salinity of 18 g/L higher (p<0.05) in 10th days of rearing. This study showed that Barramundi have good adaptation on low salinity, and can be cultured in fresh water pond.
