Strategi Pengembangan Agribisnis Sapi Perah di Jawa Timur
Abstract
This study aims to: (1) Determine the condition of dairy farm business in East Java by analyzing entire variable that has been identified; (2) Formulate an appropriate strategy to be applied in development dairy farm in East Java province. Formulation of strategy is done using SWOT analysis and strategic arcitecture. Study location in Malang district, East Java Province. Determination of study location conducted by purposive. The results showed in internal analysis, the factors become strengths in agribusiness dairy farms in East Java is the organization of work that goes well, good cooperative services, good capital cooperative, and the availability of infrastructure. While the weakness factors is the low level of education of members, production capacity of milk per day, limited good dairy calves and waste production are not managed properly. In the external analysis, the opportunity factors are the milk prices tend to rise, increases in population and increase in public awareness of nutrition, geographical area and the role of secondary dairy cooperatives. While the threat factors are weather conditions, feed prices, IPS (Milk Processing Industry-MPI) with strong bargaining position, and local cow's milk substitute products (vegetable and imported milk). The policy implications of this study is development of agribusiness in East Java dairy cows should not only focus on the amount of milk production, but also consider the availability of forage feed especially during dry season and and alternative markets for milk products.
